The Lyth Lab

Nanomaterials for Energy Conversion and Sustainability

The Lyth Lab is focussed on the practical application of nanomaterials for energy conversion. In particular he is interested in hydrogen and related technologies, including fuel cells, electrolysis, carbon dioxide conversion, and hydrogen storage. This exciting research all takes place in the beautiful Ito Campus, near Fukuoka in Japan.

As an Associate Professor at Kyushu University in Japan, Stephen is affiliated with the International Research Center for Hydrogen Energy; the International Institute for Carbon-Neutral Energy Research (I2CNER), and the Department of Automotive Science (AMS).

Recently, he was extremely honoured to be selected as a NICE-STEP Researcher by the National Institute of Science and Technology Policy (NISTEP), part of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT).

Our group is looking to accept graduate students in the Department of Automotive Science at Kyushu University. We would also like to support applicants for the JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowships for Research in Japan (including the Summer Program, the Strategic Program, the Short-Term Program, and the Standard Program). Finally, we are always happy to host students who have obtained a MEXT scholarship (Monbukagakusho).
